Hawzah News Agency – The Friday prayer leader of Yazd says the United States, despite all its forces, equipment, aircraft carriers, and weaponry, is now viewed globally as a defeated power, with most of the world recognizing Iran as the victor — a result he attributes to the resistance and faith of the Iranian people.
Speaking during Friday prayers in Yazd, Ayatollah Mohammad Reza Naseri began his first sermon by urging worshippers to observe divine piety and remain on the path of truth, saying humanity is moving toward God and will inevitably reach the destiny He has ordained.
"The fortunate are those who do not fall behind on this path and do not distance themselves from God," he said, adding: "We must not be heedless of divine grace. We are alive under the shelter of God's mercy. If God were to withdraw His grace for even a moment, we would be nothing."
Gratitude Means Using Blessings Rightly
The cleric stressed that God's blessings are endless, and that true gratitude means using these blessings correctly — in service to people and for progress, not for destruction and corruption.
Citing Imam Ali (AS), he said the best form of gratitude is not using God's blessings for forbidden purposes. He also relayed a tradition from Imam Reza (AS) to Abdul Azim Hasani, in which the Imam warned believers not to allow Satan into their hearts, as Satan promises poverty, steals hope, and commands corruption, sin, division, and indecency.
"Some human beings, like America and Israel, have become servants of Satan and follow in his footsteps," Naseri said.
Unity as the Greatest Shield
In his second sermon, the Friday prayer leader cited a tradition from Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), who asked God for three things: that his nation not perish from hunger, that enemies not be given dominance over them, and that no division arise among them.
"Unity is in our own hands and is extremely important. Our greatest weakness before the enemy is division. If we stand united against the enemy, divine assistance will reach us," he said.
Naseri warned that the enemy actively fuels division, drawing a parallel to Pharaoh, who divided his people into factions, weakened them, and then destroyed them. "Today, the enemy has deployed all its forces to separate us, weaken us through division, and then eliminate us one by one," he cautioned.
Resistance Brings Honor, Surrender Brings Humiliation
Echoing the words of the martyred founder of the Islamic Republic, the cleric said: "Even if resistance brings hardship, its harm is far less than compromise. In resistance lies honor, divine support, and victory. The cost of surrendering to the enemy is far greater."
He offered concrete examples: "Libya surrendered to the enemy and has now lost everything it had. Saudi Arabia, despite its immense wealth, is humiliated and has become America's cash cow. Resistance brings hardship and martyrdom, but its outcome is victory and honor."
"None of America's promises have been fulfilled. They do not want Muslims to have dignity," he added.
World Recognizes Iran's Victory
Naseri said the world now acknowledges Iran's victory, crediting the people's resistance and faith.
"America, despite all its forces, equipment, carriers, and weapons, is considered defeated on the world stage. Today, most of the world considers Iran the victor in this war," he said.
Pointing to the uprising of Imam Hussein (AS), he noted that the Imam stood firm and was martyred, but through his sacrifice, Islam was kept alive.
The Friday prayer leader concluded by praying for the success of officials in resolving the people's economic difficulties, saying: "These people have resisted. These economic problems must now be resolved through the efforts and planning of our officials."
